How You Choose
Tragedy happens so often in so many places. On the way to my church there was a car turned up side down on a straight away within a quarter mile of my church. It seems a car was passing him cutting in front of him to quickly; forcing the man to cut his wheels. By doing this; he flipped his car over on its roof. Fortunately there wasn’t anyone hurt. Too often by someone either drinking or not paying attention someone gets hurt or killed. What people need to realize is that you don’t need to worry about what you’re going to do when driving. Worry about what the other drivers can and will do; if you’re not paying attention. Focusing on the road can save your own life as well as others. If you feel you must drink do it in the privacy of your own home, at least others won’t have to put up with you, just the family you may pretend to love. I think by this statement all know the position I take on them that do drink. Some say I can drive better when I am drunk than sober. I say, “Dream on Alice; wonder land is just around the corner!” It is people like you that get people killed. You might ask have I meat someone who did drink that I liked. My answer to you is I never met anyone who drinks that I cared to be sociable with. Maybe it’s just me, I don’t like to see people stagger or have to the smell the liquor on them, to hear them get loud and rude or start bawling then throw up. Maybe there are some out there that doesn’t do any of the things; then I say to you that. “You must be drinking non alcoholic beverages.” Booze kills people, it may be a slow death but eventually it gets the job done. It’s bad enough people may want to kill themselves but why must they take others along with them or others has to put up with their abuse along the way. Why do folks that don’t even know them have to be a victim that was in the wrong place at the right time while they were out driving and not paying attention, then is either killed or crippled. Me, I choose not to be a victim to a drunk or those who drink. How you choose is your own business.

James,
ReplyDeleteYou said a mouthful & I can't agree with you more. I wish everyone realized just what alchohol does to a person not to mention those around him or those unsuspecting pedestrians, other drivers in oncoming traffic, etc. All I can say is: Right on!
Alcoholism is a tough addiction. I agree with you about people drinking and driving. Not a good idea at all. You see, my 23 year old sister was on her way to work back in 1967 when a drunk driver hit her and killed her. So I know firsthand what can happen.
ReplyDeleteThe sad thing is our country does not treat it as an addiction. I don't know the answer on how to treat it but luckily for some of them, they decide to give it up and that works, others turn to God and that works and yes, many do think they don't have a problem, when in fact they do. I just hope and pray those who do have addictions can find their way out from this thing.
