City Life

Living in the city can have its rewards; everything is close to our home. The small hospital is only two minutes away if an emergency would arise. There are plenty grocery stores and within three miles of our home we have over tree hundred outlets to shop in. Having a hot tub and swimming pool is a plus. We have tennis courts, baseball fields and a recreation hall with lots of video games for our children to play. Yet most of the time the children around here stay bored. When I grew up we played spin the stick, threw horse apples at each other and had a wonderful time doing nothing. However by growing up in the country my siblings and I had plenty of chores to do. We had hogs, chickens, a cow and horse to feed. We took turns milking and helped plow our garden in the spring. We had a swimming hole in a nearby river and plenty of grape vines that grew in the trees that we would swing on. We never knew what it was to get bored. I am not saying life in the country was better what I am saying is life was better because we chose it to be that way.
